Crowds gathered around Burj Khalifa on Saturday night as the world's tallest building marked its 10th birthday.
A lightshow and list of its records were protected onto the towering facade - just days after the city rang in the New Year bells with a stunning fireworks display.
The bridge connecting Dubai Mall to Souq Al Bahar was packed with visitors and camera flashes went off as the show unfolded.
Along the way it has racked up 10 official world records, including the highest occupied floor and longest elevator travel distance.
The 828-metre building was inaugurated on January 4, 2010 but broke records during the construction phase as it surpassed Chicago's Sears Tower and Taipei 101.
An estimated 12,000 workers were on site at any one time to build the structure, while much of the Downtown area was constructed at the same time.
It has appeared in blockbuster films, countless documentaries and typically been visited by more than a million people each year.
Uber, which compiles a list of the world's most visited attractions each year, consistently ranks the tower among its top 10, ahead of Buckingham Palace and Disneyland in 2019 and 2018.

A little about CVRL
Founded in 1985 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, the Central Veterinary Research Laboratory (CVRL) is a government diagnostic centre that provides testing and research facilities to the UAE and neighbouring countries.
