A man who pledged allegiance to terror group ISIS on Twitter has been jailed for five years and hit with a Dh1 million fine by an Abu Dhabi court.
The Comoran citizen, 21, identified only as A.A.A.Z, was found guilty of joining the organisation and professing his support to its militant leader Abu Bakr Al Baghadi in a social media post during a hearing at the State Security Chamber of the Federal Supreme Court on Sunday.
The man was also convicted of promoting the terror group and trying to recruit young people online, state news agency Wam reported.
The court ordered the seizure of all electronic devices used to carry out the crime and all data produced by the defendant to be wiped clean.
The guilty party was also ordered to pay the costs of bringing the case to court.
He was found to have violated laws in regards to combating terrorism and cyber crimes.
How to join and use Abu Dhabi’s public libraries
• There are six libraries in Abu Dhabi emirate run by the Department of Culture and Tourism, including one in Al Ain and Al Dhafra.

• In order to borrow books, visitors must join the service by providing a passport photograph, Emirates ID and a refundable deposit of Dh400. Members can borrow five books for three weeks, all of which are renewable up to two times online.
• If users do not wish to pay the fee, they can still use the library’s electronic resources for free by simply registering on the website. Once registered, a username and password is provided, allowing remote access.
