ABU DHABI // A murder case in which a labourer admits strangling his lover to death has been adjourned by the Criminal Court while it contacts the woman's relatives.
MN, from Bangladesh, killed the woman during a fight at his labour camp over money she said he owed her for aborting her pregnancy.
Seven of his compatriots denied charges of not reporting the man to authorities. One of them, AH, also denied helping the killer to escape.
"We were wrestling on the floor, then I pressed on her neck for five to seven minutes," the labourer said during a previous hearing. "When I saw blood come out of her mouth and nose I stopped, and she was dead."
The case was adjourned until October 10.
