DUBAI // The Appeals Court has upheld six-month jail terms for two men who kidnapped and raped a 17-year-old boy.
The stateless 23-year-old HK and the 19-year-old Yemeni AA were both convicted by the Dubai Criminal Court of coerced sexual intercourse, physical assault, and consuming liquor. They were fined Dh2,000 for the consuming liquor charge, which was also upheld.
The boy they raped, a Yemeni student, was walking back to his home in Al Qusais after visiting a friend in October 2011 when the two men assaulted him and shoved him into the boot of a Honda Civic.
They took him to one of their homes where they forced him to drink alcohol until he blacked out. When he woke up he was naked and the two men raped him.
The boy told his captors he needed the toilet and escaped out of the window. He then ran home naked and told his father what had happened.
Police found a video recording of the attack on the mobile phone of one of the two men.
A forensics report confirmed the boy had been raped.

A little about CVRL
Founded in 1985 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, the Central Veterinary Research Laboratory (CVRL) is a government diagnostic centre that provides testing and research facilities to the UAE and neighbouring countries.
One of its main goals is to provide permanent treatment solutions for veterinary related diseases.
The taxidermy centre was established 12 years ago and is headed by Dr Ulrich Wernery.
