DUBAI // A maid threatened to kill a roomate who walked in while she was having sex, a court heard today.
Prosecutors said that on the evening of July 6 TH, a 30-year-old Indonesian maid, was having intercourse with her boyfriend at her sponsor's house in Al Qusais when her co-worker and compatriot SK, 22, walked in to the bedroom they share.
When the returning maid threatened to inform their boss of what happened the first maid grabbed a knife and held it to her throat.
"She threatened me that she would kill me if I said anything about her having a strange man in our room," said the 22-year-old.
The first maid and her lover - a 42-year-old Egyptian - are at the Court of Misdemeanours facing charges of consensual sex outside wedlock and trespassing. It was not clear how the two met.
The accused maid was not in court today. The case was adjourned to September 30 to summon her.
