A 19 year old man died in a road accident in Al Ain on Friday.
It's believed the man was in the central reservation of the road and was watching an illegal car race when a vehicle crashed into him.
Col Ahmed Al Zuwaidi, director of the traffic department in Al Ain said patrols arrived at the scene within minutes and caught the man who caused the accident.
The driver of the other vehicle was also arrested after fleeing the scene.
Some others who were racing have been arrested, while Col Al Zuwaidi added that police are seeking people who photographed the incident and published it on social networking sites.
He warned people against racing cars and called on families to monitor the behaviour of children especially during Ramadan and school holidays.
