Police have arrested two men for growing dozens of cannabis plants on a farm in Al Ain. The two men, from an Asian country, had been growing the plants to sell drugs and had even sectioned off an area of the premises to receive customers, police said. The sales room at the farm also offered tools for consuming the drugs. Police said they were tipped off about the operation and formed a team to find out which farm it was. They raided the business, seizing the 37 cannabis plants and arresting the two suspects believed to behind the illicit trade. Police revealed details of the raid in a video posted on Instagram on Saturday. In it, police called on the public to report any suspicious activity using their emergency number 999 or by calling the Aman Service hotline on 800 2626. Last year, a farmer in Dubai was arrested for growing marijuana and <a href="https://www.thenational.ae/uae/dubai-farmer-arrested-for-growing-marijuana-and-brewing-spiked-tea-1.743607">brewing spiked tea</a>. And in 2016, a British man was sentenced to four years in jail for <a href="https://www.thenational.ae/uae/marijuana-plant-grower-gets-four-years-in-dubai-jail-1.53238">smuggling 34 marijuana plants</a> which he then tended to in his villa. He said the plants were for his personal use.
