DUBAI // A construction worker and a blacksmith stole copper pipes worth more than Dh100,000 from the Jumeirah Park Project, a court heard today.
AD, 31, and MH, 32, both Bangladeshis, admitted carrying out the theft on March 20. One of them stole the pipes from a company handling the electrical work at the project while the other kept watch.
The pair were spotted by an Indian worker who chased them and managed to stop one of them.
"Once they noticed me, the two fled the scene but I ran after them," said RM, 32.
Records said that the copper pipes cost Dh101,615.25
A verdict is expected on May 23.
