Supermarket staff filmed women in the toilet, Dubai court told

DUBAI // A supermarket employee hid his mobile phone in a box of detergent and used it to film women as they used the toilet, a court heard yesterday.

The phone was discovered by a fellow employee who heard it ringing as she was using the toilet, prosecutors told the Criminal Court.

She informed her supervisor, who checked the mobile and found clips featuring women as they used the toilet. The supervisor discoverd the phone belonged to MM, 25, from India.

The supermarket's accountant said that MM sent a text message to two of the women who appeared in the video clips.

Prosecutors said that the man confessed to having filmed six women, saying he used the clips to pleasure himself.

In court, he denied a charge of sexual assault.

A verdict is expected on April 29.
