DUBAI // A drug dealer who was caught with almost three kilograms hashish and more than 21,000 Tramadol pills was sentenced to life in prison on Monday.
Anti-narcotics police began surveillance of Emirati A S, 28, after a tip-off about his activities.
At Dubai Criminal Court, policeman AL, 36, said: “When we arrested him at his residence, the suspect willingly led us to his bedroom where he took out a big black garbage bag from under his bed and handed it to us. It was full of drugs and pills.”
Records showed that police found 2.95kg of hashish, 21,040 Tramadol pills and 2,690 pills of another banned drug.
The defendant was charged with the possession of drugs, consumption of drugs, possession with the intent to sell, and the facilitation of drug consumption for other individuals.
The forensics report concluded that the urine sample of the defendant contained traces of drugs.
The court also ordered the confiscation of the narcotics.
