Police will set up an unmanned floating station off the coast of Dubai to cater to a growing number of residents on the World Islands. The station will be on one of the 'floating seahorse' villas. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and police chief Abdullah Al Marri were shown a model of the structure at the Gitex Technology exhibition on Wednesday. The structure is modelled on the unmanned police station in City Walk, which allows members of the public to pay traffic fines and report accidents without the need for an officer to be present. It is not known whether there has ever been a crime committed on the World Islands – home to a handful of private villas and a beach club on Lebanon island – but its population is expected to grow. The Kleindienst Group is currently constructing homes and hotels on a number of undeveloped islands.
