ABU DHABI // A new student assessment programme is being introduced for public school students in grades 10 and 11, according to the Abu Dhabi Education Council.
Students’ achievement level will now be measured using a concept known as NEDM — No Achievement, Emerging, Developing and Mastered.
High school leaders were recently trained on the new student assessment programme, which will “promote a student’s achievement level without the usage of a grading system such as a mark or a percentage,” according to Adec.
“The assessment process will help improve their overall performance since assessment will be constant and students can help one another in an area (or) subject they can master, while realising their areas of strength and weaknesses,” said Shaikha Ali Al Zaabi, Adec’s International Assessments Division Manager.
