An Emirati motorist had a miraculous escape in Fujairah on Saturday after a lorry overturned and crushed part of her car.
The woman, 28, was driving on a roundabout in the emirate at about 4.15pm when the accident happened.
Police said both motorists sustained moderate injuries in the incident and were taken to Fujairah Hospital.
Officers said they believed the accident was caused by the lorry driver failing to pay proper attention to the road.
“The accident took place on Yabsa Road roundabout on the way to Sakamkam area at 4.15pm on Saturday,” said Brig Dr Ali Al Yamahi, director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Fujairah Police.
“The lorry driver’s lack of attention and reckless driving caused his heavy vehicle to flip over and land on the woman’s car.”
