Enoc plans self-service fuel pumps at night across Dubai



Emirates National Oil Company is looking to introduce self-service across its Enoc and Eppco stations between midnight and 6am.

The option would save motorists' time, improve efficiency and cut costs, the company said.

"The self-service concept is popular in most countries and we are looking at bringing in global best practices to our network to further strengthen operational efficiencies," said Burhan Al Hashemi, the managing director of Enoc Retail.

"When motorists become familiar with the concept of self-service, we believe that it will also encourage them to further conserve on energy resources."

The initiative is part of the company's Dh50 million modernisation plan.

Mr Al Hashemi said service station staff would be available to help customers learn how to refill their tanks.

The reduced service is not expected to cause staff restructuring as workers will be absorbed into other jobs, the company said.
