Extra buses have been chartered by Sharjah Police to ferry worshippers to mosques across the emirate on Tuesday night – the evening many Muslims believe to be Laylat Al Qadr. Brig Gen Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, said the buses would ensure smooth traffic and the safety of worshippers. Police patrols and ambulances will also be increased near mosques during evening prayer times. Laylat Al Qadr is believed to be the night the Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed. On this night, Muslims increase their acts of worship. It falls on one of the last 10 nights of Ramadan but the specific date was not disclosed in the Quran. <strong>Read more: <a href="https://www.thenational.ae/opinion/what-is-the-night-of-destiny-1.76068">What is the night of destiny?</a></strong> Buses will be available between Abdullah bin Jubair Mosque and Al Sahaba Mosque, near the cricket stadium, as well as to Sheikh Saud Mosque in Shahba.<br/> Meanwhile, Wasit Road and internal roads in Al Shahba will be closed while traffic with diversions linking motorists to a network of roads in Hilwan area. Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed to motorists returning from Al Sahaba Mosque after prayers.
