Celebrating its 30th anniversary last week, the GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards have been around almost long enough to have given Pong Game of the Year way back when. With over four million votes cast, this year's awards were the most voted-for in history and the action role-player Skyrim walked away the biggest haul of gongs, with Ultimate Game of the Year among the three. Other winners included Batman: Arkham City, which was named Best Action-Adventure Game; Civilisation V: Gods & Kings won Best Strategy Game; and, perhaps the obvious choice, Fifa 12 was named Best Sports Game. Minecraft's move to the Xbox 360 was rewarded with Best Downloadable Game.
