Girl, 15, falls to her death from Sharjah high rise building

SHARJAH // A 15-year-old girl has died after falling from the 14th storey of a building.

The Indian teenager died on Sunday in Al Nahda area, said police, who found the body in front of the building.

According to police, the incident occurred after the victim had returned home from school and an investigation is under way.

The emirate has seen several such tragedies occur in a short space of time.

At the end of last month a six-year-old girl died after falling from the 15th floor balcony of a residential tower.

The Indian child’s body was found on the ground floor at about 7am on October 26.

Police said the girl had been left unattended.

Less than two weeks earlier, an Ethiopian woman was killed and a Bangladeshi man suffered injuries in two separate high-rise falls in Sharjah.

Also last month, a 16-year-old Indian girl fell to her death from the seventh floor of a high-rise residential building, in Abu Shagara, less than a week after an 11-year-old British boy fell to his death from the eighth floor of a building in Al Majaz area.
