A four-year-old girl fell to her death from her family's ninth-floor flat in Dubai, a police official revealed on Tuesday. Police were called to the apartment building in Al Nahda at 1.40pm on Sunday. The Sudanese girl was found dead on the road beneath the building, having fallen from the balcony. Forensic and criminal evidence teams studied the site and balcony and initial investigations indicated suspected negligence by the family. No further details were released. The incident is the second fatal fall by a child aged less than five this week. The girl, from Syria, is believed to have climbed on to a chair near the open window of her parents' bedroom and fallen through. She was pronounced dead on arrival at Al Qassimi Hospital. Police said the toddler sneaked off to the bedroom in Al Majaz 2 area while her mother, 20, was distracted in the kitchen. The mother has since been charged with negligence and released on bail.
