Leading food delivery app <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/education/2022/02/08/do-you-have-the-deliveroo-app-dubai-pupils-adorable-questions-for-prince-william/" target="_blank">Deliveroo</a> is backing the ambitious UAE campaign to provide food to needy people in 50 countries. Those using the app can donate Dh10, Dh50, Dh100, Dh300 or AED500 to bolster the fast-rising fundraising tally The international drive is being led by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/2022/04/02/ramadan-2022-sheikh-mohammed-bin-rashid-launches-one-billion-meals-campaign/">launched One Billion Meals</a> at the start of <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/tags/ramadan/">Ramadan</a>. More than Dh420 million has already been raised - with the campaign set to continue until it hits its lofty target to provide one billion meals to people in need in <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/ramadan/2022/04/07/one-billion-meals-campaign-uae-starts-distributing-food-parcels-in-five-countries/">50 countries</a>. Rare number plate auctions were held in Dubai last Saturday and Abu Dhabi on Wednesday in aid of the scheme. Abu Dhabi's exclusive '2' car number plate sold for Dh23.3 million ($6.3m) at the charity auction in the capital. A total of Dh111m was raised on Wednesday night in bids for rare licence plates and exclusive mobile phone numbers.
