75 government service centres audited in first phase of star rating system

Seventy-five government institutions have been audited and issued a star rating showing its quality of service.

The assessment by external auditors showed three government service centres attained a five-star rating, 33 centres were issued four stars and 39 were given three stars.

The audit is part of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s plan to rate 400 ministry and federal government service centres within the next months. The classification of these centres will be from two stars to seven stars, the highest ranking.

Sheikh Mohammed said a plaque showing the centre’s star rating will be displayed outside each audited building.

“It is the right of every official to know the level of his/her services compared to the rest of the ministries,” Sheikh Mohammed said. “We stated before that we want the government service centres to be like hotels.”
