Burj Khalifa lit up with Jacinda Ardern’s picture on Friday as a tribute from the government and people of United Arab Emirates to New Zealand’s Prime Minister in the aftermath of the mass shooting that killed 50 people at two mosques. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised Ms Ardern for her support to the Muslim community. “New Zealand today fell silent in honor of the mosque attacks' martyr. Thank you PM @jacindaardern and New Zealand for your sincere empathy and support that has won the respect of 1.5 billion Muslims after the terrorist attack that shook the Muslim community around the world,” he wrote on Twitter. The Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE also praised New Zealand’s communities for their solidarity with their Muslim neighbors and for taking a stand against hate crime. New Zealand's leader received a UAE delegation on Friday, who expressed solidarity with the victims of the Christchurch terrorist attacks.
