ABU DHABI // The final phase of field visits to find the winners of the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in government performance take place this month.
Inspections of 51 entrants competing for the award started last month and will continue until October 27.
The awards are divided into three categories. The first is for the main award, sub-awards and “excellence engines” awards.
The second category is for the best teams, while the third category honours the winners of the Chairman and Executive Council Medal Awards.
These awards were launched by the Abu Dhabi Government to improve development.
Dr Yasir Alnaqbi, director of the Abu Dhabi Excellence Programme, said: “The projects and individuals that were qualified to undergo the final phase of the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance showed the entities’ relentless pursuit to apply the best applicable government practices.”
He said the awards were aimed at “entrenching the concepts of excellence in daily work culture”.
The final results will be announced on November 17 at the awards ceremony.
In the second and third categories, 50 projects and 100 employees out of 621 entrants have qualified for the final phase.
