The Crown Prince of Fujairah has signed a deal to build a D100 million sports stadium in the emirate. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi signed an agreement with Fuj Singh International Company to construct the Dibba Sports Stadium, which he cited as a key project for Fujairah this week. The project has been approved by Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah. Sheikh Mohammed thanked the Ruler of Fujairah for supporting plans for the stadium. It was not revealed when the new stadium will open its doors or what capacity it will hold. The new stadium is just the latest bid to boost the emirate's economy. Last month, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, approved infrastructure projects worth Dh1 billion in Fujairah as part of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development’s 2017-2021 plan for the eastern coast. The Dh200m upgrade of Hamad bin Abdullah Road in Fujairah is due for completion in 2020.
