Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Ruler of Ajman, issued an urgent call for housing to be provided to a group of widows and divorced women in the emirate.
As part of efforts to boost living standards for all members of society, Sheikh Humaid also called on authorities to ensure all existing accommodation was suitable for disabled people.
The dual directives came after he reviewed reports prepared by the Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Centre that assessed housing needs in the emirate.
Sheikh Humaid ordered authorities to swiftly provide houses to widows and divorced women who earn low incomes and have not benefited from the government's housing grant programme.
Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, welcomed the directives and reaffirmed the importance of supporting all parts of the community.
