Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed helped to shape Dubai's vision for the future - during a visit to one of the emirate's most hotly-anticipated attractions. The Crown Prince of Dubai enjoyed a tour of the rapidly-developing site of the Museum of the Future as he led a high-level meeting at the venue. The Dh500 million facility, which will be home to a research centre with labs and classrooms as well as a sprawling space for museum-goers to experience new technologies, is due to swing open its doors this year. Sheikh Hamdan said the museum will 'open up a window to tomorrow' and will be a global tourist attraction. In November 2018, Dubai Media Office announced that the museum's opening would be postponed to 2020. The museum's opening was originally planned for 2017. The under-construction museum played host to the latest meeting of the board of trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, chaired by Sheikh Hamdan. During the meeting, the Dubai Crown Prince approved the foundation’s three-year strategic plan. The foundation was set up to help develop strategies to ensure Dubai plays a leading role on the regional and international stage for years to come. Sheikh Hamdan affirmed that building human capital is the core of the development model set by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai. "We want Dubai Future Foundation to become a global platform for spreading knowledge, leading research efforts and continue playing its role as a think-tank that supports decision making in our futuristic government," said Sheikh Hamdan. The high-level discussions featured a number of senior Cabinet members, including Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, Omar Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Hessa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development and Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Sciences.
