On Tuesday night at Yas Marina Circuit, the UAE’s Armed Forces kick-started their strategic fitness training partnership with the circuit in an opening ceremony that showcased the military’s prowess.
Visitors to Yas Marina Circuit were able to witness freefall parachute displays by the airborne troops from the UAE Army as well as a parade by an Armed Forces marching band.
“It is fantastic to welcome the GHQ Armed Forces to use our facilities at the circuit. We fully support health and fitness in the local community and are pleased to be able to extend our support to the UAE Army’s health and fitness cycling initiative,” said Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit said.
More than 200 military personnel were present at the launch of the initiative, which has seen the army donate 200 camouflage bikes to the circuit for use by army personnel.
The army’s training programme will be held during the circuit’s hugely popular weekly training nights, TrainYAS and GoYAS by Daman’s Activelife which attracts a weekly average attendance of 4,500 people that run, walk or cycle the iconic, 5.5km F1 circuit.
