The UAE's leaders wished its people well as the country prepared to welcome 2020 in style. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, wished the country a year of peace and stability on Twitter. "As we welcome a new year, our ambitions grow and we become more determined to multiply our national achievements," tweeted Sheikh Mohamed, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces "With God's will, we will keep fulfilling our civilised mission of promoting well-being, coexistence and tolerance. "I wish the people of the UAE and the world well-being with every year. We hope that 2020 will be a year of peace, stability, optimism and goodness for humanity." Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, wished the Arab world a brighter future. "A new year starts tomorrow, a year of well-being and hope, a year of hope and work, year of willingness and fulfillment," he tweeted. "I wish well-being to my country and the Arab world with each passing year. May mankind move forward towards a brighter, better and greater future with every year." Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, said the UAE strengthen its leadership position in humanitarian and economic fields in 2019. The UAE has always strived to promote stability and prosperity through its successful national model and ambitious vision, he added. “We look forward to 2020 with confidence,” he tweeted. “We are led by a conscious and ambitious leadership that leads a good path that charts the way for us. In the year of preparation for the [country’s] 50th year, we work together to consolidate the position of the United Arab Emirates by strengthening its foundations and developing its future potential.”
