Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak is the latest member of the UAE's royal families to answer the call from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, to join a fitness movement. On Saturday, a week into the challenge and 10 days into his new post as Minister of State for Tolerance, Sheikh Nahyan joined an exercise class at Zayed Sports City to work out for at least thirty minutes, as outlined by the Dubai Fitness Challenge. In a video posted by his daughter, Sheikha Alyazia bint Nahyan bin Mubarak, Sheikh Nahyan is seen doing push ups, running up stairs at the stadium, cycling on a spinning bike and slamming down weight balls. He high-fives his trainer, from Haddins gym, when it's all over. "Thank you Sheikh Hamdan, we have accepted the challenge," he said. Sheikh Nahyan is generally quite active, last year his daughter shared a video of him playing table tennis and a few days ago posted a video of the Minister ziplining while on a family outing with his children. But Sheikh Nahyan was not the only public official exercising this weekend. On Saturday, Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed, joined thousands of participants in the challenge on Kite Beach Dubai. Activities such as Pilates, beach cricket, Ultimate Frisbee and kayaking were held with Sheikh Mansoor taking part in a tug-of-war with Dubai Police. Last week, a video of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, was posted on the Ministry's YouTube channel, showing him working up a sweat on a spinning bike. “Bu Rashid, we accept the challenge and I hope my colleagues at the Ministry will join us in the challenge,” he said to Sheikh Hamdan. _______________ Read more:
