Breast cancer survivors share personal stories as part of BurJuman’s Safe & Sound campaign

DUBAI // Ten breast cancer survivors will share their personal stories as part of BurJuman’s Safe & Sound campaign this month.

This is part of continuous efforts throughout the year to increase awareness and promote the message: Early Detection Saves Lives. This month the campaign will focus on monthly self-examination, clinical breast check from age 20 and annual mammogram from age 40.

Residents can prepare for the annual BurJuman Pink Walkathon on October 31. Registrations open on October 1 at www.safeandsound.ae. "The fight against breast cancer begins with early detection," said Linda Berlot, a breast cancer survivor. "A full understanding of all the aspects of the disease including risk factors, diagnosis, preventive measures, treatments and life after treatment is vital to helping women lead a healthier lifestyle."
