Health officials in Abu Dhabi have set out safety measures for residents exploring the UAE's great outdoors during the winter months. The cooler climate offers incentive for nature-lovers to embark on camping trips - often in the desert - but members of the public are being urged to abide by Covid-19 regulations when on the adventure trail. Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre issued a raft of guidelines on Friday, reiterating the need for people to wear masks, stay two metres apart from others and avoid large gatherings. They should not hug others or shake hands. People are also advised to regularly wash their hands using sterilisers and disinfectants as well as soap and water. They should also avoid close contact with anyone suffering from fever, a cough or respiratory difficulties. The health notice alerts people not to eat raw or uncooked animal products and avoid touching raw meat, milk or animals. Authorities have called on members of the public to adhere to Covid-19 guidelines to help drive down infection rates. The UAE recorded 1,196 coronavirus cases on Friday, bringing its total to 182,601. Since the Emirates recorded its first cases in late January, 607 people have died and 162,435 have recovered. As of Friday, there were 19,559 active cases across the country.
