The UAE recorded 380 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the country's total to 45,683. Officials revealed that 657 more people beat the virus, continuing the recent trend of recoveries outpacing new cases. The latest recoveries brought this tally to 33,703 across the country. Two more patients died with the virus, bringing the national death toll to 305. These latest cases were identified after an additional 40,000 tests were carried out. The UAE has begun to ease restrictions imposed to combat the spread of the virus in recent weeks. On Sunday, Dubai unveiled plans to welcome back tourists from July 7 and allow residents to travel abroad from this week. Under the measures, the process of bringing residents stranded abroad would also be streamlined. On Monday, education chiefs confirmed they were drawing up plans to reopen schools in September with strict safety measures in place, including reduced class sizes, pupil temperature checks, a ban on sharing food and a 30 per cent cap on school bus passengers. Dubai's school pupils and university students should expect to return to classrooms and lecture halls after the summer, the city's education regulator said. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority said the learning experience would look different and that people expect a mix of in-class learning and home study.
