The UAE reported 1,254 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, taking the total number of infections to more than 192,400. The new cases were discovered after conducting 136,132 tests. There were 823 new recoveries, bringing the the total number of patients who have beaten the virus to 168,129. Officials also reported four deaths taking the toll to 634 since the start of the pandemic. The number of active cases was 23,641 as of Saturday. The new cases came as the UAE continues to roll out its voluntary vaccine campaign across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The Sinopharm vaccine – which is 86 per cent effective according to UAE regulators – is available at all clinics run by Abu Dhabi's public health operator, Seha, and at hospitals run by the private company VPS Healthcare. NMC Healthcare is also offering the vaccine at 11 hospitals in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. In Dubai, residents can get the jab at Dubai Parks and Resorts field hospital near Jebel Ali.
