DUBAI // Thousands of people visited the Qasr Al Hosn festival in the first few days of its opening, according to statistics from the organisers.
In the first five days, about 7,500 people attended the festival, and thousands more visited performances, forums and the exhibition.
"We've had an excellent reaction from people," said Faisal Al Shaikh, the director of the festival. "People are staying for the day and interacting with the events."
He said the numbers didn't include attendees to the show, "The Story of a Fort, Legacy of a Nation" by Franco Dragone, which has attracted at least 800 people every day, Mr Al Shaikh added.
The 10-day event began on February 28, and ends on Saturday.
Mr Al Shaikh said he expected more people to visit toward the end of the week as word got out about the festival.
"We are finding more people every day want to be a part of this rich history," he said.
