Walls and warehouses were turned into open air canvases as painters spent the weekend splashing Jumeirah in colour as part of the Ruler's project to give the area a facelift.
The whitewashed walls of the sprawling coastal residential district received a splash of colour in the form of murals and Arabic calligraphy.
It follows in the footsteps of similarly dazzling open air art displays in nearby Satwa, home to tens of thousands of Asian workers and their families, which has received recognition for its street art.
"We want to create a place that inspires out-of-the-box thinking, where creative minds from across the world can contribute to creating a glorious future," said Sheikh Mohammed, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
Local artists are being given the chance to display their work in Jumeirah, a once sleepy fishing village that is now lined by mansion villas, high-end medical clinics and parked supercars.

What is double taxation?
