ABU DHABI // A video of a man supposedly making a failed marriage proposal in a Dubai shopping mall that went viral has been found to be an advert.
In addition, the scene was not shot in Dubai as some media have reported but it was, in fact, shot in India by chocolate maker Cadbury.
In the video the man can be seen to dropping to one knee with a microphone in hand as shoppers gather around.
As he begins his loving speech, musicians gather around playing instruments in the soppy scene.
The girl realises everyone is watching and becomes embarrassed but when her boyfriend, undeterred, continues his speech she decides enough is enough and
bashes him with a ukelele
that one of the musicians was playing.
It turns out the whole scene was a viral ad campaign shot by Cadbury to promote its Bournville range of chocolates but it clearly fooled many online.
The video has been doing the rounds on Facebook since Thursday night and has got thousand views, tweets and retweets.
