ABU DHABI // The head of Abu Dhabi Education Council has ended the services of a laboratory supervisor who it said appeared in a video beating a student.
Dr Amal Al Qubaisi, director general of Adec, “issued an administrative decision to immediately end the services” of the supervisor, the council said on its Twitter page on Thursday.
Adec said that as the regulatory body for private schools, it would “not issue any appointment notice for the said lab supervisor in the future”. He would not work again in the field of education in the emirate of Abu Dhabi ... in public or private schools”, Adec said.
Dr Al Qubaisi said: “Aggression incidents against students are isolated and considered alien to the field of education.
“Our teachers are highly dedicated in their jobs and have concern for the students.”
The news came a day after the Ministry of Education said it would investigate claims – on video evidence – that a teacher beat a pupil in Ajman.
