Prosecutors lost their appeal against the acquittal of a man accused of assaulting police officers during his arrest.
The 37-year-old Omani was arrested on February 7 this year in connection to several offences that were not specified in court records.
Police arrested him outside a shop near his home in Al Qusais but they claimed he resisted arrest by pushing and scratching the officers.
They restrained and handcuffed him before taking him into the police station and receiving treatment for their wounds at Al Baraha Hospital.
The man was cleared of assault charges at Dubai Criminal Court and the acquittal was upheld at Dubai Court of Appeal.
