DUBAI // A man who sexually assaulted a cleaner at the Abu Hail Metro Station has been jailed.
Omani M H, 32, molested Nepali S S, 32, on March 14 by rubbing his body against her back and touching her breasts. The victim said she noticed the Omani near the station’s staff lounge that day. “He asked me where I was going and I responded that I was going to clean the toilets,” she said. About five minutes later, she saw him again, and he asked for a kiss.
“I told him no. After an hour, I went to the staff lounge to have my breakfast,” she said.
“While I was trying to bring down my meal from the cupboard, he pressed his body against my back and grabbed my breasts,” S S said.
The victim tried to scream, but he put his hand over her mouth. “I started to resist and told him to leave me alone,” she said.
She managed to break free and run out of the room. The cleaner told her line manager, Nepali D B, 38, that she had been molested and showed him scratches on her right arm.
While D B and the victim were on their way to report the incident, the Omani appeared and asked what was wrong with S S.
“S S told me that he was the one who attacked her,” D B said. “I told the station manager about the incident and we alerted police, who came and apprehended M H.”
At Dubai Criminal Court on Wednesday, M H entered a plea of not guilty to sexual assault. He was sentenced to three months in jail and will be deported on his release.
