New Abu Dhabi utility fees posted online

ABU DHABI // New fee structures for water and electricity consumption have been published online by the Regulation and Supervision Bureau of Abu Dhabi.

The increase in water and electricity fees take effect on January 1. Emiratis and expatriates can calculate their bill by visiting http://rsb.gov.ae/calculator.

Emiratis, who had not been charged for residential water consumption, will now have to pay between Dh1.70 and Dh1.89 for every 1,000 litres of water, depending on their daily usage volume and whether they live in an apartment or villa.

For expatriates, the water fee will rise from Dh2.20 for every 1,000 litres of water consumed to between Dh5.95 and Dh9.90.

New water fees have also been listed for social card holders, social allowance beneficiaries, as well as government, commercial, agriculture, industrial and diplomatic properties.

Electricity fees for Emirati residential customers are little changed, as they will continue to pay five fils for each kilowatt-hour (kWh), up to 30 kWh a day. They will be charged 5.5 fils for each kWh exceeding the limit.

Electricity fees for expatriates have risen from 15 fils per kWh to 21 fils per kWh for up to 20 kWh a day for flat dwellers, and up to 200 kWh for those living in a villa. The fee is 31.8 fils for each kWh exceeding the limit.
