One person died and eight others were injured in several road accidents across Dubai over the past two days. The first accident involved two vehicles and took place on Al Awir 2 Road as one car attempted to overtake the other on the two-way street. The car crashed into another travelling in the opposite direction, killing one of the motorists while the other suffered severe injuries, according to Brig Saif Al Mazroui, director of Dubai traffic police An accident involving six vehicles on Cairo Street, in the direction of Al Mamzar, left five people injured. A further two people were injured in an accident on Dubai — Al Ain Road after the Academy bridge in the direction to Nad Al Sheba area, police said. “Four vehicles failed to leave a safe distance and were involved in the accident that caused minor to moderate injuries to two people and were transferred to the hospital,” Brig Al Mazroui said. On Thursday he urged motorists to follow the traffic rules and avoid speeding and reckless driving.
