After decades of green, Abu Dhabi Police has unveiled sleek new uniforms that will be worn from November 21. The new look features five new designs, including alabaster trousers and shirts for field patrol uniform for non-commissioned officers and members of the General Command, with a brown beret and beige shoes. Women will wear a slate grey jacket and skirt or trousers with a blue beret and black shoes. The outfits commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Abu Dhabi Police and were announced at a ceremony Armed Forces Officers’ Club in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. The rebranding is part of the relaunch of the Abu Dhabi Police, which will become a body distinct from the Ministry of Interior that oversees the country's police forces. Earlier this year, it enlisted more than 1,000 Emiratis and expatriates to serve as community police officers who could serve as first responders in the event of an emergency. The uniforms promote belonging, security and stability, said a statement by the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police. Uniforms are a “basic component” of police work, indicating the status and role of officers in the community, said Brig Saeed Al Nuaimi at the ceremony when they were viewed by the public for the first time. ______________ Read more: ______________
