Etihad Aviation Group has appointed Tony Douglas, formerly a UK Defence ministry official and head of Abu Dhabi Airports, as its new chief executive, replacing James Hogan who stepped down in July. The number of traffic-related crimes in Abu Dhabi has dropped 90 per cent from March to August this year compared to the same period last year. Cigar traders are bracing themselves for an uncertain financial future as tobacco products become subject to a 100 per cent tax from Sunday, October 1.
