Seven new parks are being built across Abu Dhabi emirate at a cost of Dh10 million. Construction began on the spaces in Al Ain, Sweihan, Nahel, Al Shwaib and Al Faqa on Sunday and work is scheduled to be completed by October. The seven fully fenced parks span an area of 12,100 sq m and will include shaded play areas for children, said Abu Dhabi General Services Company, or Musanada, which is building the parks with Al Ain Municipality. At least 95 per cent of each park will be shaded in an effort to combat high temperatures during the summer and preserve play equipment for as long as possible. Play areas will also feature spotlights to provide clear visibility at night, the municipality said.
