A yacht that sank off Dubai Marina was spotted bobbing in the sea on Sunday after efforts to salvage the vessel stalled. The boat was seen off Jumeirah Beach Residence and was prevented from becoming completely submerged by two inflatable booms. It is located about 100 metres off shore and appeared to be in deeper water on Sunday than on the previous day. As The National reported at the weekend, 11 passengers and crew were rescued when the rented yacht began taking on water at around 12.45pm on Thursday. Three crew members and eight tourists — Russian, British and French nationals — were picked up by a police boat. On Saturday evening, the boat appeared to have been partly salvaged and was seen close to the shore. Another boat and a number of workers were seen hopping on to the vessel but it was not brought ashore. The owner of the yacht, which is just under 17m in length, declined to discuss the accident when contacted by The National. ________________ Read more: 'Floating Seahorse' house sinks near Burj Al Arab Residents lose hope as belongings confirmed lost in dramatic ship collision
