DUBAI // A two-year-old child trapped in a vehicle was rescued by police on Wednesday.
Lt Col Ahmed Burqibah, deputy director of Dubai Police’s Search and Rescue Unit, said that the European boy was trapped in the car for about 20 minutes.
A call was made to the operations room at 1.20pm and a patrol was at the scene by 1.25pm, he said.
Officers broke in to the vehicle and got the toddler out, said Lt Col Burqibah. He was in good health but sweating profusely from being stuck in the hot vehicle.
It is not clear how the boy got trapped but his parents were at the scene and thanked the authorities for their efforts.
