Traffic fines in Ras Al Khaimah will be cut by 30 per cent for five weeks from this Sunday - as part of the UAE's ongoing celebrations for the Year of Zayed.
All motoring fines issued by radar, as well as vehicle impoundment charges, dating back at least 81 days will be eligible for the discount.
The campaign will be in force from October 7 until November 11.
Maj Gen Ali Al Nuaimi, commander-in-chief of RAK Police, said the discount will reduce the financial burden on drivers.
It is the latest pocket-friendly move announced by police in the emirate.
Only last week, the RAK force revealed that registration, renewal and ownership transfer on electric vehicles will be exempt from charges until December 31, 2021.
It's all part of an ongoing effort to increase the use of electric cars in the emirate and cut down on fuel consumption.
