A Dh377 million upgrade to the Al Faya-Razeen road to the small border community of Al Qua’a will be complete by the end of next year, according to Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada). Construction on the 140-kilometre road began last October. The first section begins east of Shahama at Al Faya and extends 88km south to Razeen, near Al Wathbah. The second part extends 52km south and east to Al Qua’a, a community south of Al Ain on the Oman border. “The upgrade of the existing road, connecting Abu Dhabi city to the south-eastern parts of the Emirate such as Al Qua’a and Al Wagan, will help achieve a smooth traffic movement and improve road safety to users,” said Saleh Al Mazrouei, acting roads and infrastructure executive director for Musanada. _____________ Read More: _____________ The first 15 km are two-lane dual road. Once complete, the road will provide safer travel to scores of farms between Al Ain and Abu Dhabi. The project is part of the development plan for the eastern region of Abu Dhabi and was approved by Abu Dhabi’s Executive Council.
