Dubai Metro 'back to normal' after morning of delays says RTA

Dubai // The Dubai Metro is back up and running normally, the Road and Transport Authority has said after a morning of delays and disruptions for commuters.

Technical glitches hit metro services on the redline starting from from Nakheel harbour station to Ibn Batutta station.

Road and Transport Authority said on their twitter that the "Dubai Metro service is back to normal."

It posted on twitter: "We thank you for your feedback and we apologise for Dubai Metro commuters for any inconvenience caused.

"However, Safety is our primary concern and as part of our regular checks and measures we hold commuter Metro services between stations if necessary for a brief period. RTA is providing buses to transport passengers between these stations."

It is still not clear what caused the problems.
