Emirati poet and film director killed in road accident



Ahmed Hussein bin Silari, the Emirati poet and film director, was killed in a road accident in Al Ain on Friday.

Mr bin Silari was buried yesterday in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends in Al Foah. He was 42 years old and lived in Al Zakher with his five children, 3 girls and 2 boys.

His eldest is a high school graduate, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic language sister paper of The National.

Social media sites reported the news of Mr bin Silari’s death to his fans and followers.

The artist was considered a pioneer in the field of arts in Al Ain, where he had founded his own company “Mix Music” to support Emirati artists and promote musical works and drama.

The company produced movies, videos and albums for various artists.

Mr bin Silari’s numerous works are available online and are often broadcast on TV and radio channels.
