A 27-seater bus has been gutted by fire on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai Police said.
The bus driver said he sensed something was wrong in the vehicle and urged his passengers to get off, a police spokesman said.
“He stopped the bus nearby Dubai Internet City. He asked the passengers to get off the bus and then the bus's engine burst into flames,” he added.
No injuries were reported.
A Dubai Civil Defence team were able to extinguish the fire shortly afterwards.
“The bus was coming from Abu Dhabi. Twenty-seven labourers were seated on the bus,” the police spokesman said.
The incident took place on Wednesday at 10.20am.
"The bus was completely burnt but a team of firefighters intervened quickly and was able to control the situation," a Civil Defence spokesman said, adding that the cause of the fire was not yet known.
Police are currently investigating.
